Every winter humpback whales migrate from the North Atlantic to the Samana Peninsula to give birth and mate. This amazing ritual can be seen between January 15 through March 15 (may vary).
Measuring 12 meters and weighing up to 40 tons, these humpback whales offer visitors an unforgettable display.
A must-see tour. Listen to the powerful puff coming out of this mammal’s blowhole as it emerges from the bottom of the sea. You will be able to observe the male humpback whales frolic and perform all sorts of antics as they vie for the affection of the females just scant meters away from our boat.
Experience the thrill of watching newborn whale calves alongside their mothers as they are being cared for and played with.
An experienced marine mammal guide will offer tips on how to observe and interpret their every movement.

A remarkable and pleasant experience; a 30-minute horseback ride led by a local guide will take you to the top of El Limon waterfall, an awe-inspiring 50-meter-high fall. You’ll have a chance to enjoy the scenery along the way, surrounded by lush vegetation and tropical fruit.
This tour includes a 15-minute hike down the waterfall; take an invigorating swim in this natural pool.
We’ll take time out to take pictures and rest. On our way back to the ranch, we’ll feast on a delicious Dominican buffet-style lunch!
If you prefer not to go horseback riding or like walking, this tour can be done on foot with a good pair of comfortable shoes, but you must be aware of the treacherous terrain ahead. The trail is 50-minute long on foot.

This tour invites you to experience three (3) unspoiled beaches classified among the most beautiful waters in the world.
This is the place where dreams come true! Departing from Las Galeras on a small boat, we will head to Fronton, a desert beach only accessible by boat. Enjoy the opportunity to go snorkeling.
After going snorkeling, we will go to Playita where we will have lunch. This beach is known for its gorgeous crystal-clear waters that will leave you breathless! For lunch, you will be able to feast on lobster, fish or BBQ chicken. We will then have the afternoon free to spend time in Playa Rincon and after head back to Playa Galera by boat.

The Dominican Republic is an amazing place, steeped with its own unique culture and history. You will get to see places way off the beaten track and you will experience a way of life that has remained unchanged to this day for decades. The Dominican people also share a unique zest for life and living and so with all of these features and experiences combined, this makes the Samana Safari Adventure one of those “must do excursions” while on vacation.
We guarantee that you will be amazed once you head out into the rural areas, and the lush tropical trails around Mount Isabella de Torres. Your guides will astound you with their knowledge, and banter that will keep you entertained, and smiling all day long. You’ll have the opportunity to see a banana plantation, and find out how coffee and chocolate are grown locally.

The can’t-miss tour of the Samana Peninsula: a visit to Los Haitises National Park, once a place of refuge to the Taino Indians who sought shelter in its caves at the beginning of the 16th Century. Its grottos still preserve original Taino pictographs.
The most beautiful park in the country, thousands of birds flock its highly-varied plant life. Herons, pelicans, frigate birds, swallows, vultures, among other bird species abound throughout this expanse.
The stillness of its mangrove is breathtaking. Listen to the singing of the birds; it’s an authentic paradise!
Having visited its 3 main caves, taking a tour right up to the end of 2 different mangroves and watched the birds, we will enjoy a refreshing beverage on the beach, which also is where the park rangers live. Lunch will be served along the shore at noon.
